One of the greatest facets of the internet is its inherent ability to allow users to discover new content whether it be music, food recipes, video games, bodybuilding, etc. YouTube happens to be a plentiful resource for content discovery, especially when it comes to music. Even though there are many ways to discover music like spotify, last fm, and many others, I think that the community that comes along with YouTube channels can sometimes be more communal and help you find music you might be more interested in. In the past, all people really had to discover music were TV channels like MTV or VH1, but with the internet you can find very specific sub categories of music and discover many hidden gems. Additionally, there are youtube channels that do music curation for certain genres of music. One of my favorite ones is the Chillhop Music channel, which curates a lot of lo-fi hip hop music usually from lesser known artists. Their channel has nearly a million subscribers and on the live radio for their channel, they typically have 3-4 thousand concurrent viewers. There are many similar channels to this, but with different genres associated to it, and an idea that I would love to do hypothetically is curate classical guitar music that could range from Spanish, baroque, flamenco, etc. Even though the genre of classical guitar music is certainly not as popular, I think that having a channel dedicated to preserving that kind of music for anybody with access to YouTube could prove to be something worthwhile since classical guitar music is something that is very endearing to me.
