One of my favorite sub genres of classical music, specifically for the guitar, is baroque era classical guitar. The term baroque is a generalization for the "period of European art music from about 1600 to 1750" (What is Baroque Music). If I were to do a YouTube channel for classical guitar music I think that I'd have some contemporary classical guitar music, but I would primarily have baroque era guitar music because to me it stands out as a period with plenty of technicality and energy even though it's an older and lesser known style of music. One distinguishing example of this kind of music would be from composers such as Gaspar Sanz, who in my opinion is one of the greatest forefathers of the classical guitar. My favorite piece by him probably would be Canarios, which is a part of a whole publication of his called "Instruccion de musica sobre la guitara espanola" (Gaspar Sanz). Going further in depth with this song as an example, I believe that a lot of Spanish classical guitar music could be something that could reach out to a lot more people than just the guitarist demographic and something that many could enjoy given the proper exposure. The style of music is therapeutic, has technicality to its composition, and is somewhat high energy. With that being said, I would prefer to have contemporary musicians play this kind of music so that they could bring a bit of their own style and spice to the compositions, like the guitarist in the video.
